Magellan worked with Jersey Water project managing the move of corporate teams from their Westmount offices to new town headquarters. This project involved working closely with the designers and main contractor/furniture supplier, Style Interiors.
The scope of this property project included overseeing the tender and fit-out of the new town office; managing, defining and communicating the office requirements for colleagues moving to the new office; and ensuring teams were fully updated and consulted in relation to all aspects of the move.
The sale of Westmount to facilitate the Hospital project provided a catalyst for Jersey Water to decant into a town office space and consider options for developing the company’s property portfolio to better accommodate the various operations teams. The purpose built and designed space provides both formal and informal ways for more collaborative working between the various corporate teams, including Finance, Customer Services, HR, Governance and Technology. The project itself represented a significant cultural change for the organisation therefore, in recognition of this, the Project Manager focused their efforts to ensure colleagues felt fully informed and invested. Realising the move has successfully resulted in a workplace which is fit for purpose for the next generation of Jersey Water employees, delivering a presence in a central town location and providing a great place to work which will be financially secure, sustainable and resilient.
This project forms part of a wider property piece for Jersey Water that Magellan have been supporting and was a great example of collaboration between several local firms. Our Project Manager successfully delivered the project on time and on budget, and great feedback has been received from the teams who have settled-in well to their new office space.
Many thanks to Jersey Water’s CEO Helier Smith for the opportunity, and to everyone who made to project possible.
