Jersey Water

ELSIRS

Jersey Water is required to provide water which consistently meets all of the quality requirements laid down in the Water (Jersey) Law 1972. Water Quality Team encompasses all aspects of sampling, transport and analysis of water (raw and treated) and provides regulatory assurance for the Company. It is also in place to support the business on all current and future water quality, regulatory, operational and scientific matters. These obligations were being managed, tracked and monitored via a number of manual processes, As part of an on-going improvement plan, Jersey Water identified a need for a technical solution within their laboratory environment to improve efficiency and accuracy, and to better meet the needs and future requirements of Jersey Water, its employees and its customers.”

Magellan assistied the internal team to deliver a new Laboratory Information Management System. Water Quality processes and methodologies were assessed, improved and standardised, opportunities for errors have been reduced to increase data accuracy (right 1st time), and the sample collection process (collection to reporting) has been accelerated to enable speedier decision-making. This resulted in overall improvements which enabled the Water Quality Team to build on its services to develop its advisory capabilities.”
